Fabulous Friday - G.R.I.T.S.

Driving in Officer B's big ol' truck this morning, the CD in the player was his "Upbeat Country" mix. The first song in the cue was Miranda Lambert's Kerosene, and I've got to tell you it wasn't a bad way to start the day. Embedding was disabled, but it's definitely worth a listen if you need an angry girl anthem to put some sassy in your day.

I laughed at myself driving in that truck, country music blaring, singing for all I was worth. Despite all my poetry and pretentiousness I'm still a Girl Raised In The South (G.R.I.T.S.) . So, here's to wherever your from and being proud of it! Happy Friday!

Love that southern hospitality. I was a Texan for one year. "You might, could say, I picked up an accent, but 'omm' fixin' to get rid of it."

I'm proud to be from the Willamette Valley, Oregon, where all my teachers were hippies and tree huggers. I didn't learn to read or write, but I learned to recycle and save the whales.

The best coffee was here before Starbucks was out of diapers. The state shoe is a Birkenstock. Yet I am as concervative as they come. Enjoy your day!! Kathi

Jennie, you are quite right, grits are a breakfast food - typically a Southern treat. Someone came up with the cute little G.R.I.T.S. acronym for Southern girls. I think it has broader appeal than "Southern Belle." :)

I didn't know you were from the South! Did I miss something? Well, we have that in common, then. And I'll bet you have a lot in common with little Scarlett, there, too... ;)
